This classic, versatile gathered skirt which can be made in your preferred length is the perfect project to get you started!

In this class you will learn how to pin and cut fabric the correct way,   how to sew perfectly straight seams, , how to create gathers, attach a waistband, insert elastic and many more essential basic sewing techniques, terminology and more!

What to bring:

22” to 28” WAIST:
Mid-thigh length: one 1.30m length of 150cm wide fabric, or one 150cm length of 115cm wide fabric.
Knee Length: one 1.5m length of 150cm wide fabric, or one 1.7m length of 115cm wide fabric.
30” to 36” WAIST:
Mid-thigh length: one 1.5m length of 150cm wide fabric or one 1.50m length of 115cm wide fabric.
Knee Length: one 1.5m length of 150m wide fabric, or one 1.7m length of 115cm wide fabric.

All sizes: 50cm of 3cm wide elastic

Recommended fabrics: Woven fabrics only (non stretchy) Medium weight cottons such as chambray, poplin, lawn, pique’, swiss dot and gingham, lightweight denim, linen and needlecord.

*Important note: it is highly recommended that you pre-wash your fabric according to manufacturers instructions prior to attending the class. Do not skip this step, as your garment is very likely to shrink after the first wash unless the fabric has been pre-washed.
